Helwan University started producing the protective clothing for the quarantined doctors under the supervision of Dr. Maged Negm, the president of the university.
The production came in cooperation with the Egyptian industries union and Makhlouf group and with the coordination between the faculty of home economy and the faculty of applied arts.
It’s important to mention that the gear is produced in the faculty of home economy’s factory.
Dr. Negm praised the materials used in the manufacturing of the protective clothing. He also mentioned that the production came as the result to the increasing demand on the medical equipment and protective clothing due to their current essentiality to the medical teams.
Dr. Khalid ElKady, the dean of the faculty of home economy announced that the production of the protective clothing for the quarantine doctors has already started in the faculty’s factory as a part of the faculty’s role in serving our country during these hard times.
Dr. Maysoon Kotob, the dean of the faculty of applied arts confirmed that the produced clothing are of high quality and are sanitized to avoid the passage of any microbes or viruses and thus, preventing the spreading of the virus. The production of about 3000 medical rob, 1500 headdress and 1500 shoe covers has been coordinated to help fight the coronavirus outbreak.
The sanitizing of the equipment and protective clothing is done under the supervision of the faculty of medicine under the supervision of Dr. Mamdouh Mahdy, the dean of the faculty.
