A research team at the Wireless Research Laboratory (WRL) at the Faculty of Engineering, Helwan University, led by Dr. Mahmoud Al-Maslawi, Assistant Professor at the Department of Electrical Communication Engineering has managed to design an integrated electronic application called "Masari" that supports the process of self-investigation and follow-up of people who may be in contact with Coronavirus-infected cases to help reduce the spread of the virus.

The innovative system consists of three main parts (an intelligent application on a mobile phone, an electronic platform for data processing, an electronic website on the Internet). These parts work in an integrated manner and depend on some modern technologies such as artificial intelligence.

Moreover, this system enables people to self-investigate the possibility of their contact with Coronavirus-infected patients, as the application automatically via processing some data using artificial intelligence techniques alerts the phone owner that he may have been around a person who carries the virus in order to take the necessary precautionary measures.

This system also provides an effective way to help activate the memory of people who are proven to be infected with the virus to remember the places they visited before their infection, to support the investigation and tracking of cases in contact with these cases.

The system also allows people to contact the relevant authorities in the state (for example, the Egyptian Ministry of Health and Population) to inform them of their health status periodically and receive the necessary precautionary measures, and the appropriate protocol.
