A group of engineering students from Al-Matareya College of Engineering has developed a suit works via air pressure system that can carry weights; it can help to reduce physical burden on workers. This will in turn lead to increasing their productivity and protecting them from work dangers.

Professor Mohamed Fattouh, dean of the Faculty of Engineering, said that this project is working on the development of factories and warehouses, and aims at increasing production and protecting the worker from potential injuries because of heavy weights.

He noted that there are other uses of the suit.

"It can be used to transfer furniture or household appliances," he added.

He pointed out to the simple design, low cost of the suit but also how it is easy to control; it is designed in a way that enables it to change lengths and sizes of their parts to fit the person's size.

The students of Al-Matareya Engineering, under the supervision of Dr. Yasser Shaaban, a professor in the Department of Mechanical Design, prepared a preliminary model that raises about 90 kg. They also developed this model to reach the weight of about 150 kg.
