Renowned archaeologist Dr.Zahi Hawass is holding several press interviews at the Temple of Debod in the Spanish capital of Spain to follow up his calls for covering the temple from rains and erosion.

The meetings came after one week of Hawass's call for protecting the Egyptian temple.

In this score, Hamdy Zaki, a tourist adviser, said on Friday that members of the Rotary clubs in Spain were invited to meet the Egyptian archaeologist.

Hawass is going to visit the city of Bilbao, which its mayor will honor him for his efforts in promoting the Egyptian civilization.

He will also deliver a lecture on promoting tourism in Egypt.

Noteworthy, the temple was originally built 15 km south of the city of Aswan, Upper Egypt.

In 1960 and during the construction of Aswan High Dam that was threatening many archaeological sites and ancient temples, UNESCO, in cooperation with the Egyptian government, asked the global community to protect its legendary history from destruction.

The Egyptian government gave the Temple of Debod to Spain in 1968 in appreciation of Spain's efforts and assistance in contributing to saving and preserving the “Abu Simbel” Temple.
