Hollywood star Chris Pratt, who plays Peter Quill also known as Star-Lord, announced Tuesday that production began on "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3".

Pratt made the announcement in a video shared on Team Coco Twitter.

The Marvel star had also taken to Team Coco's account, the network behind the Parks and Recreation podcast Parks and Recollection, to announce he will be appearing on the podcast, which is hosted by Rob Lowe and Alan Yang.

However, the movie's director James Gunn denied Pratt's statement, noting: "Despite stories to the contrary, we haven't started shooting #GotGVol3 yet (but we are pretty close)."

“Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3” will also feature Dave Bautista, Zoe Saldana, Karen Gillan, Will Poulter, Pom Klementieff, Bradley Cooper, and Vin Diesel.

Gunn had previously revealed that the third installment in the interstellar MCU franchise will contain a major death.

“Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3” is scheduled to debut on May 5, 2023.
