Greek FM Dendias: Turkey Primary Reason for Regional Tensions

Nikos Dendias, the Greek foreign minister criticized Turkey’s interfering in the Nagorno-Karabakh dispute between Azerbaijan and Armenia after his meeting with the Armenian Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan on Friday.

Dendias asserted Greece’s support to Armenia against rising Turkey’s provocations.

In the same context, Dendias expressed the serious threats Turkey causes on the international level.

Next, he explained, “The tensions aroused in Syrian, Iraq, Cyprus, Libya and the east of the Mediterranean carry one common point, which is Turkey especially after its ignorance of European Union calls for respecting the international law.”

He pointed out the importance of following the diplomatic methods and resuming the negotiations for reaching permanent solutions, shedding the light on the tensions threatening the region.

Finally, he called for the importance of distinguishing between the makers of disturbances and the ones who exert no efforts in reaching peace.
