Gold Prices Surge following Easter Holiday

Gold prices in Egypt rose on Tuesday, one pound per gram following Easter holiday.

The secretary of the gold pision at the Federation of Egyptian Chambers of Commerce (FEDCOC) Nady Naguib said that the price of the 21 Karats recorded EGP 613 per gram compared to EGP 612 a day earlier.

The price of 18 Karats recorded EGP 525 per gram, while the price of 24 Karats amounted to EGP 701, and the price of the gold bullion coin stood at EGP 4,904.

Globally, gold prices rose as a result of weak Chinese economic activity, pushing Asian stocks down, and renewing worries concerning the growth of the global economy.

The spot price of gold rose 0.3 percent to record $ 1283.44 an ounce. In addition, US gold futures surged 0.3 percent to stand at $ 1285.3 an ounce.
