Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities placed a number of archaeological reproductions in the airports of the Egyptian tourist cities for goddess Serket.

This came within the framework of the efforts of the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities to promote the Egyptian tourist destination and welcome tourists from all countries of the world.

Mr. Amr El-Kady, CEO of the General Authority for Tourist Activation explained that these Egyptian antiquities are made by Konouz Egypt Replica Treasures factory, pointing out that seven of them have been placed in hall one, two and three of Cairo Airport.

"A brief summary is written on the pedestal of the goddess Silket, and the phrase "Welcome to Egypt" is written in both Arabic and English," he added.

Selkt was a ancient Egyptian scorpion goddess. She was generally viewed as a protective goddess, but also had a darker side.

Serqet was thought to have power over venomous snakes and scorpions.

It was believed that she could protect a person from venomous bites, and also that she could send snakes and scorpions to mete out punishment to those of whom she disapproved.
