CAIRO, Dec. 3 (SEE)- Dr. Khalid Fajal, Dean of the Giza Higher Institute of Engineering and Technology, gifted the Institute's shield to Egyptian Archaologist Dr. Zahi Hawass during a seminar held earlier today.

Hawass gave a lecture on pharaonic mysteries; the pyramids’ construction and tombs of its builders, red mercury, royal mummies, excavations at the western Valley of the Kings and the papyrus of ‘Wadi Al-Jarf,’ which is the most important discovery in the twentieth century.

Regarding ‘The Curse of the Pharaohs,’ Hawass assured that this term is nothing but a fable, noting that tomb discoverers pass away after uncovering the treasures due to inhaling toxic gases inside the thousands-year-old graves.

The archaeologist also talked Tutankhamun’s death, conspiracy of women and the excavation of ‘Ankh Asen Amoun’s’ tomb. He expressed his fondness of Egyptian monuments and pointed out that creativity does not depend on attending first-rated colleges.

“In fact, archaeology is a science that requires extensive study and research and approximately 30% of Egyptian antiquities have been discovered so far,” noted Hawass.

On her part, Dr. Dalia Al Jazairi, Director of Public Relations at the Institute, praised the instant response of Hawass to give the lecture, stressing that he is a global icon who always seeks to communicate with students and motivates them.
