Italian fashion designer Giorgio Armani held Sunday his Milan Fashion Week show behind closed doors and chose instead to live stream the show from inside an empty showroom out of fears raised by Coronavirus.
The fashion house revealed in a statement on Sunday that the decision comes in the framework of safeguard the well-being of all Armani's invited guests by not having them attend crowded spaces.
It is worth mentioning that dozens of towns in northern Italy have gone on lockdown after the deaths of two people infected with the new virus from China.
Milan is the capital of Italy's Lombardy region, which reported 54 confirmed cases of coronavirus.
The virus has also spread to six Arab countries, namely Bahrain, Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates, Iraq, Lebanon, and Egypt.
On Monday, Kuwait, Bahrain, and Iraq reported their first cases of the virus, meanwhile, the other Arab countries reported many cases over the last few days.
The deadly virus has also been reported daily around the world. In mainland China, 2,592 people have died, while more than 79,000 infections have been confirmed, according to government figures.
Other hundreds of cases have been confirmed elsewhere, as the virus is now present in at least 30 countries.
Moreover, Liu Zhiming, the director of a leading Hospital in China’s central city of Wuhan, the epicenter of a coronavirus outbreak, died of the disease Tuesday morning, according to state television.
He is the first known hospital director to have died from this deadly virus.
China is trying with all its might to confront the effects resulting from the outbreak of the new Coronavirus, via a series of strong and effective measures that seek to reduce the number of deaths and injuries caused by this deadly virus.
What is the latest Coronavirus?
Coronaviruses are part of the family of viruses known as Coronaviridae. The new form of Coronavirus known as Coronavirus 2019-nCoV, that is currently affecting inpiduals, originated at the seafood market in the Chinese city of Wuhan. The virus was first reported to the WHO, on December 31.
The Wuhan market has been shut down since January 1.
The novel Coronavirus symptoms can range from mild to severe, a cause of worry as it can be mistaken for cold and fever. Some of the symptoms of the virus are dry cough, fever, and respiratory problems.
It is also widely described as a pneumonia-like illness, because of its similarities with pneumonia—a lung ailment. But as this is a virus, antibiotics are not helpful. There is no vaccination for the disease so far.
