Today, various films screening of the 42nd Cairo International Film Festival’s (CIFF) competitions will take place. Get to know more about the most significant film screenings.
The Lebanese/French “Under the Concrete” will be screened at the Cairo Opera House Small Theater at 12:30 pm.
Directed by Roy Arida, the films is one of Horizons of Arab Cinema participants.
On the other hand, Cairo Opera House Grand Mall will host the screening of the Russian “Conference.” The film competes at CIFF international competition. It will be displayed at 3 pm.
Furthermore, the second group of Cinema of Tomorrow films will be screened at Hanager Theater at 3:30 pm.
This group consists of: “Flori, Flori, Flori” (Italy), “Henet Ward”(Egypt), “Life on the Horn” (Somalia), and “The Handyman” (Australia).
Also, the first group of Cinema of Tomorrow’s films will be re-run at Odean 2 Cinema at 1 pm.
The first group includes: “The Man Who Swallowed the Radio” (Egypt), “Perpetual Night” (Portugal), “Isabel” (Cuba), “The Game” (Switzerland), and “Kurchatov” (Russia).
At 6:30, the Brazilian “My Name is Baghdad” will be screened at the Small Theater. It part of International Critics’ Week Competition. And, “Sow the Wind” will be displayed at 10 pm at Odeon 2 Cinema.
“Shorta, International Competition participant, will be screened at Odeon 1 Cinema at 4:30 pm. Also, “Nadia, Butterfly” will be displayed at 10 pm at Odeon 1 Cinema.
“Shorta” is also International Competition participant.
The Egyptian “Ammar” will be screened at Odeon 2 Cinema at 4 pm.
Fellini’s “8 1/2” and “La Dolce Vita” will be screened. “8 1/2” will be at the Small Theater” at 3:30, and “La Dolce Vita” will be at Hanager Theater at 12:30 pm.
Regarding today’s main event, the Egyptian documentary film “Lift Like a Girl” will be displayed at Cairo Opera House Grand Theater at 9 pm. It will be a Red Carpet event.
The 42nd CIFF took off on Wednesday and it witnesses the participation of 84 films.
