Get to Know 2025 Ismailia International Film Festival for Documentaries & Short Films

The 26th edition of the Ismailia International Film Festival for Documentaries and Short Films will take place between February 5 and 11.

This year features a variety of categories such as documentaries, short films, and animation films, along with out-of-competition screenings, workshops, and events dedicated to promising talents.

51 films from 34 countries compete in the festival's different categories.

The competitions are as follows:

Feature Documentary Competition: Includes 10 films, such as Fedayee by Kamal Aljafari (Palestine) and The Night Still Smells of Gunpowder by Inadelso Cossa (Mozambique).

Short Films and Animation Competition: Features 24 films, including Where Jasmine Always Blooms by Hussein Bastouni (Germany) and Stillness by Dina Nasser (Jordan).

New Stars Competition: Showcases 17 Egyptian films, such as Four Days by Ismail Mohamed Gomaa and What Your Mother Didn't Tell You by Mariam Nasser.

In the same context, this year’s edition emphasizes enhancing filmmaking skills through workshops, including the City Memory workshop, which offers awards for completed films and written projects.
