GACP: Culture Minister Approves Prizes of Central Literary Competition

Dr. Enas Abdel-Dayem, Minister of Culture approved the results of the central literary competition of The General Organization of Culture Palaces (GACP) headed by Dr. Ahmed Awad for 2020-2021.

Abdel Dayem said that the competition includes the fields of: " collection of classical poetry, a collection of colloquial poetry, a collection of stories, novels, children's literature, and critical studies".

She added that it comes within the framework of discovering the talented people to create a new creative generation who is able to complete the way of the Egyptian leadership, noting that it is an embodiment of building the human being and achieving sustainable development.

For his part, the head of The General Organization of Culture Palaces explained that the competition was with the participation of 167 contestants from all the governorates of the Republic, with the total prizes of 56 thousand pounds, and the result was as follows:

- The field of colloquial poetry, first place was won by Muhammad Abdel Aziz Muhammad Muhammad Al-Sayed for his poem “Full-size female “ - The Red Sea governorate.

- The second place was won by Ahmed Mustafa Al-Sayed Abdel Halim -Qalioubiya governorate.

- The third place was won by Baher Zahir Subhi Daoud for the work “Plyacho Bayit play "Minya ".

- The field of the collection of poetry, the first place was won by Raafat Muhammad Muhammad al-Senussi, for his work “a woman who lives in music”, "Minya".

-The second place was won by Rida Ahmed Abdel-Razek Ragab, for the poetry of “ Zina's fish in the dish of eternity –Cairo.

- Third place was given to Jaafar Ahmed Hamda Ali.

- In the field of the novel, the first place was given to Karem Abd al-Ghaffar Mahmoud Awad for the novel “Utbah and Abo al-Buhaira”, the second place was given to Ashraf Mahdi Abd al-Shafi Mahmoud for the novel “The Dates of the Negus” Cairo and the third place was given to Ahmad al-Sayyid Muhammad Ali al-Sayyad for Omar Akhir's novel “Al-Sharqiya”.

- The field of the short story group, first place was won by Ahmed Al-Zanati Muhammad Hassan for the group Reaching Heaven in One Jump "Cairo", second place by Amr Atef Ramadan Othman for a group in Al-Shorfa "Aswan", and the third place was won by Muhammad Salem Ahmed Salem Ubada for the group What Happens in Quiet "Giza".
