Hezbollah announced on Saturday the death of the mother of its Secretary-General, Hassan Nasrallah, as reported by the official Lebanese National News Agency.
Hezbollah's statement read: "With deep sorrow, we announce the passing of the honorable Lady Umm Hassan, the mother of the Secretary-General of Hezbollah, Hassan Nasrallah."
The statement added that the date and location for the funeral and condolences will be announced later.
Al-Manar, Hezbollah’s TV channel, reported on its website that "Nadia Safi Al-Din, the mother of Hezbollah’s Secretary-General Hassan Nasrallah, has passed away."
Al-Manar's statement also mentioned: "With great acceptance of God's will and decree, we mourn the passing of the late Umm Hassan Nasrallah, wife of Abdul Karim Nasrallah."
According to Al-Manar: "The deceased will be buried in the Rawdat al-Shahidayn cemetery on Sunday, May 26, 2024, at 2 PM. Condolences will be received before and after the burial at the Imam Al-Sadr Hussainiya / Rawdat al-Shahidayn."
Lebanese media, including LBCI Lebanon News, also announced via their official "X" platform, formerly known as Twitter, the death of Hassan Nasrallah's mother.
