French Foreign Minister Stephane Ségornet said on Tuesday that pressure must be exerted on Israel to open the crossings to bring humanitarian aid to the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip.

According to Reuters, Ségornet said: "France is one of the first countries to propose that the European Union impose sanctions on Israeli settlers who commit acts of violence in the West Bank. We will continue, if necessary, until we can bring in humanitarian aid."

The Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza reported Monday, that at least 33,207 Palestinians were killed in the conflict that has been ongoing for 6 months.

It is noteworthy that most of the 2.3 million residents of the Gaza Strip are homeless and on the verge of famine.
