Former Greek PM Hails Egypt's Pivotal Role in ME

Egypt's President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi met on Thursday Alexis Tsipras, Former Greek Prime Minister (PM) and Leader of Syriza party, according to Presidency spokesman Bassam Rady. 

At the outset of the meeting, President Sisi hailed the deep relations between Egypt and greece, expressing appreciation towards the momentum witnessed by the joint cooperation between both countries during the tenure of Tsipras as Greek PM. 

Moreover, Sisi said that he is looking forward to continuing coordination and consultations between the two countries towards various regional developments.

On his part, Tsipras expressed Greece's keenness to develop ties with Egypt in various fields, in light of the pivotal role played by Egypt in the Middle East (ME) and the Eastern Mediterranean, stressing that Egypt is a  'pillar' of the security and stability of the region.

Moreover, they exchanged views regarding various regional issues foremost of which; the Libyan crisis, and the latest developments in East Middetteranean.
