CAIRO, Sept 4 (SEE) - The Egyptian Foreign Ministry said on Monday that it is coordinates with its embassy in Brasilia to follow up the conditions of the Egyptian artifacts in Brazil's National Museum, which was burnt earlier in the day.

In a statement, the ministry said that this comes within a framework of what the media outlets reported about severe damage caused to the antiquities showed at the museum, a matter which is considered an invaluable loss.

The ministry pointed out that there is a coordination with the Antiquities Ministry in order to preserve the Egyptian heritage in particular and the humanitarian heritage in general.

"Egypt fully stands with Brazil in its great loss," the statement read, adding "Egypt is ready for providing required technical expertise in the field of antiquities restoration and protecting heritage if the Brazilian government requested.

The burnt museum includes 700 Egyptian artifacts like statues and coffins.

Earlier, the National Museum of Brazil in Rio de Janeiro was going up in flames. It’s 200 years old and holds several antiquities from various countries of the world, which means a huge disaster in culture and art.
