A fire broke out early Monday at a London property owned by British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, valued at approximately £2 million, according to the Daily Mail. Emergency services responded to the incident in northwest London shortly after 1:11 a.m.

The fire caused damage to the front of the home, but firefighters from the London Fire Brigade (LFB) managed to bring it under control by 1:33 a.m., less than 30 minutes after arriving on the scene. The entire street was cordoned off as a safety measure during the response.

Although Starmer and his family no longer reside at the address, the property remains under his ownership. The Prime Minister, his wife Victoria, and their children moved into the official residence at 10 Downing Street following Labour’s general election victory in July.

The Metropolitan Police confirmed that an investigation into the cause of the fire is underway. A police spokesperson stated that officers were alerted at 1:35 a.m. and are working alongside fire services to determine the origin and circumstances surrounding the incident.

While there were no reports of injuries, the situation prompted a swift response from emergency crews given the high-profile ownership of the home. Images circulated by local media show visible fire damage to the property's exterior.

In a brief statement, a spokesperson for Prime Minister Starmer said: “The Prime Minister is grateful to the emergency services for their swift action. As this is now an active investigation, we will not be commenting further at this stage.”
