Film "Al Hawa Sultan" Gets August Window Release 

Egyptian stars Menna Shalaby and Ahmed Dawood's upcoming film "Al Hawa Sultan" hitting the theatres at the end of August.

The cast also includes Ahmed Khaled Saleh, Sawsan Badr, Gihan El Shamashergy, and more. The film hails from Heba Yousry and is produced by Sea Cinema Productions.

"Al Hawa Sultan" witnesses the second collaboration between Shalaby and Dawood after the 2016 film “Al Ma’ wal Khodra wal Wajh al Hassan” (Brooks, Meadows and Lovely Faces).

On the other hand, Shalaby collaborates with her longtime collaborator, Ahmed Ezz in the new film "Ferqat Al Mawt" (Death Squad).

"Ferqat Al Mawt" marks the fourth collaboration between Shalaby and Ezz. 

They previously collaborated on films "Shabab Take Away" (2004), "Badal Faqed" (2009), and "Al Gareema" (2022).

"Ferqat Al Mawt" takes place in the forties and early fifties, when Upper Egypt's most infamous criminal Khot El-Saied lived.

It is scripted by Salah El Gehiny, directed by Ahmed Alaa El-Deeb, and produced by Sea Cinema Productions.

Shalaby, born on July 24, 1981, is the daughter of former belly dancer and actress Zizi Mustafa. She is one of the brightest actresses among the younger generation of Egyptian stars.

The actress showed a passion for acting from a very early age, no doubt due to the exposure to the industry her mother’s fame provided.

Shalaby made her film debut in “Al Saher” (The Magician) as Nour in 2001. She scored her next role alongside prominent actress Layla Elwy in the 2004 film “Baheb El Seema”.

Since then, she co-starred with many talented actors and directors such as renowned director Youssef Chahine in the film “Heya Fawda” (2007), Ahmed Abdallah in the film “Microphone” (2010), and Yousry Nasrallah in the film “Baad el Mawkeaa” (2012) about the infamous Battle of the Camel during the January 25 uprising.
