Film "Al Daif" Coming to Netflix in December

Film "Al Daif”, which reaped six awards from international and Arab film festivals, is coming to Netflix in December.

The film stars Khaled El Sawy, Maged El Kedwany, Shereen Reda, Ahmed Malek, Jamila Awad, Mohamed Mamdouh, Arfa Abdel Raoul, and Mahmoud Al Lithy.

"Al Daif” is written by Ibrahim Eissa, directed by Hadi Elbagoury, and produced by iProductions.

The film marks the first collaboration between Eissa and Elbagoury, and the second collaboration between the writer and iProductions after the 2016 film "Mawlana".

It also witnesses the company's second collaboration with Elbagoury after the 2016 film "Hepta: The Last Lecture", which was named the highest-grossing romantic film in the history of Egyptian cinema and allocated more than EGP 27 million revenues.

"Al Daif" centers around a young man who visits a family during dinner before everything changes and takes an unexpected turn for the worse.

The film achieved tremendous success since its release at Egyptian theatres in January 2019. It was also screened in many Arab countries and worldwide including, Lebanon, Jordan, Morocco, Tunisia, the Netherlands, and Estonia.

"Al Daif" also world premiered at the Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival in Estonia, where it won an Audience Award.

It received a full-house screening and huge audience acclaim, marking the sole Egyptian and African film in the official competition of the festival and the first-ever Egyptian feature film to get officially selected for the festival.

The Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival is one of the A-rated film festivals along with 14 other festivals around the world.

Recently, “Al Daif” received three awards at the opening of the 46th Egyptian Cinema Film Association Festival, which was the Audience Award, Best Set Design Award, and the Special Jury Award, which went to El Kedwany.

Furthermore, the film also won the Audience Award at Malmo Arab Film Festival and the Best African-Asian Actress Award at the New Vision International Film Festival.

It also received wide critical acclaim from many critics and took part in many international festivals and film events, including the Arab Film Festival, Rotterdam, Manarat Festival du Cinéma Méditerranéen, and competed in the Official Competition of the Festival International du Cinéma Méditerranéen de Tétouan.
