The Federation International Football Association (FIFA) has fined Egypt's Al Ahly one million dollars on Monday due to their issues with former player Hendrik Helmke .

Al-Ahly board of directors headed by club President Mahmoud El-Khatib received a letter from Fifa informing them that the Red Devils would be fined because they did not pay the financial dues to their former player Hendrik Helmke.

Helmke, who joined Al-Ahly in 2016, asked the Egyptian League winners' officials to pay to him $750 thousand.

In August, Al Ahly named Swiss René Weiler as new head coach following Uruguayan coach Martin Lasarte, who was sacked after Al-Ahly’s elimination from the Egyptian Cup competition as they lost 1-0 to Pyramids.

“I am very proud of my presence at Al-Ahly. I know their traditions and great fans,” Weiler said.

“I will spare no effort to achieve the Red Devils’ goals in the upcoming period. We have to win all the tournaments, so we will try so hard to do so,” the Swiss coach added.

Al-Ahly claimed their fourth Egyptian Premier League title in a row and their 41st domestic trophy overall with one game to spare on July 24.

The Egyptian League champions made an ideal start to their adventure in CAF Champions League by advancing to the last 32 after hammering Sudan’s Etlaa Bara with unanswered thirteen goals on aggregate in the preliminary stage.
