Farouk Hosny Foundation to Organize Arts Seminars

On Tuesday, Farouk Hosny Foundation for Culture and Arts announced organizing a number of arts seminars, on the sidelines of the 4th Arts Awards.

The Al Hanager Arts Center will host the seminars.

"What's Painting?" is the theme of the first seminar. It will take place on March 9, and the Painting Art Award jury members will participate in the seminar.

The jury of the painting award included Dr. Aleya Abdel Hadi, the former dean of the Faculty of Architecture and Arts, University of Petra, artist Dr. Hussein Al Shaboury, artist Mohamed Abla, artist Samir Fouad, and Dr. Ahmed Ragab Saqr, the former Dean of Faculty of Fine Arts, Minya University.

The following seminar will be on March 11. It will be dedicated to the secrets of the art of photography.

The members of the Photography Art Award will participate in the event.

The members of the jury are: Onsi Abou Seif, Production Designer, Dr. Ashraf Reda, Professor of Fine Arts and Executive Director of the Arts and Culture Complex, Artist Ayman Lotfy, HonFICS – SPSA – FMIPP, Artist Emad Abdel Hadi, Photographer, and Artist Aiman Nassar; Creative Commercial Photographer.

On March 14, "Sculpture: Identity & Regimentation" will take place and it will witness the participation of the Sculpture Art Award jury.

The members of the Sculpture Awards are: Dr. Mohamed Al-Alawi, Former Vice Dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts for Graduate Studies and Research, Helwan University; and a full-time Professor, Faculty of Fine Arts, Helwan University.

It also included: Nagy Farid; Fine Artist and Sculptor, Dr. Essam Darwish; Professor at the Department of Sculpture, Faculty of Art Education, Helwan University, Dr. Marwa Youssef, Professor and Former Head of the Sculpture Department, Faculty of Fine Arts, Helwan University, and Ehab El Labban, Sculptor, and Director of the Arts Complex, Ministry of Culture.

It will be followed by "Architecture and the Challenges of the Future" on March 16.

The seminar will see the presence of Architecture Award jury members.

The jury of the Architecture awards includes: Dr. Souhair Zaki Hawass, Professor of Architecture and Urban Design, Faculty of Engineering, Cairo University, and Dr. Hesham Seoudy, Professor of Architecture & Urban Planning & Design, Former Dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts- Alexandria University and President of Alexandria Engineers Syndicate.

In addition, Mohamed Abo Seeda; Architect and Head of the National Authority for Urban Harmony, Hamdi El Stouhy; Public Building Design Consultant – Expert at the International Council on Monuments and Heritage ICOMOS, and Hatem Al Saeed; Architect and Recipient of the State Prize for Creativity in Architecture were named as jury members.

Finally comes "The Role of Youth and Enriching the Field of Art Critique in Egypt" on March 18.

The jury members are: Dr. Saeed Tawfik, Professor of Aesthetics and Contemporary Philosophy, Faculty of Arts – Cairo University, Head of the Philosophy Department Council, Faculty of Arts – Cairo University, and Former Secretary General of the Supreme Council of Culture.

It also included: Dr. Hany Abo El Hassan, Professor, Faculty of Arts, Alexandria University, and Head of Cultural Development Fund Sector, Ministry of Culture, Dr. Amal Nasr, Professor and Head of Painting Department, Faculty of Fine Arts, Alexandria University, Dr. Tarek Abdel-Aziz; Art Critic and Writer – Akhbar Al Youm, and Fatma Aly, Writer and Art Critic. 

It is worth mentioning that the awards ceremony will take place on March 7.
