Egyptian film and television actor Ezzat Abou Aouf died on Monday at the age of 71 after a long struggle with illness.
The actor’s funeral will be conducted from Al-Sayyeda Nafesa Mosque today, after noon prayer, Head of the actors’ syndicate, Dr. Ashraf Zaki confirmed.
His life and Career
Abou Aouf was one of Egypt's most prominent actors, with an impressive list of cinema, television and theatrical productions.
He was born in Cairo’s Zamalek district on August 21,1948. He received a bachelor’s degree in medicine.
He worked as an obstetrician, although he was interested in music. After he left his medical career, he became a musician and then later an actor both in cinema and television.
The veteran actor and his sisters founded a band in the early 1980s that was known as ''The Four M “which contributed to his fame. They performed roles in several theatrical performances.
Among the most famous works of Abou Aouf are : “Ice Cream fe Glim” (Ice Cream in Glim), “Tyour alZalam” (Birtds of Darkness), “Wahed mn al Nas” (One of the people), “Aboud Ala al-Hdoud” (Aboud on the Border), “Bashit we Adila 2” (Bakhit and Adila 2) and others.
The late actor has a son and a daughter: Kamal and the Egyptian director Mariam Abou Auf.

Abou Aouf appeared in one of the advertisements broadcast during last Ramadan.
His last artistic work was “Al-Ab Al-Rohy” part 2 (The God Father) series. It was directed by Tamer Hamza and written by Hany Sarhan . The series were starred by Sawsan Badr, Ahmed Abdel Aziz, Mido Adel, and others.
