The Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA) unveiled Tuesday its plans for the 79th Annual Golden Globe Awards.

The annual show is set to take place on Sunday, January 9 without the usual glitz and glamour due to the coronavirus Omicron variant surge.

The ceremony will be held from the Beverly Hilton at 6 p.m. PT without food, drink, audience, press, and celebrities.

Only HFPA members and philanthropy grantees will be allowed at this year’s Globes. They will undergo a number of additional restrictions including proof of vaccination, a booster shot, and a negative PCR test to be taken within 48 hours of the event.

The HFPA is still examining whether there will be a livestream or how winners will be announced on social media.

The ceremony will also be held without celebrity presenters, however, their omission is not coronavirus-related.

Sources tell Variety that no stars have agreed to take part in the Globes, likely due to the HFPA’s controversy in February 2021.

The HFPA came under fire after LA Times reported that the then-87-person group included no black members.  NBC canceled its annual telecast of the awards after the HFPA was lambasted for corruption-related allegations.
