The European Union has pledged an additional €50 billion to assist Ukraine, on top of the billions already dedicated.

This funding is part of a broader EU initiative to address migration policies and future foreign policy challenges.

EU member state representatives have agreed to revise the union's long-term budget, following a majority vote in the European Parliament in favor of reviewing the so-called "Multiannual Financial Framework" (MFF).

This approval marks the final step for the framework's implementation.

The budget review agreement, previously reached between parliament representatives and member states, follows a consensus among EU leaders and prime ministers in early February.

The allocated €50 billion ($54 billion) for Ukraine is part of a larger package that includes €11 billion aimed at addressing migration and defense policy challenges.

Member states have also announced additional funding to enhance the EU's crisis response capabilities.

Beyond the aid earmarked for Ukraine, an extra €64.6 billion is set aside for unforeseen expenses.

These funds will be sourced through the reallocation of the EU budget, with approximately two-thirds of the Ukraine aid being in the form of loans.

This financial package underscores the EU’s commitment to supporting Ukraine and strengthening its capacity to manage crises, highlighting the EU's strategic priorities in foreign policy and defense.
