England secured their place in the FIFA World Cup 2026 Round of 32 after defeating Panama 2-0 in their final Group L match at New York's New Jersey Stadium on Sunday.
The Three Lions dominated possession throughout the first half, creating several chances but failing to break down Panama's disciplined defensive setup, which relied heavily on counterattacks to keep the score level heading into the interval.
England finally found the breakthrough in the 62nd minute when Real Madrid midfielder Jude Bellingham fired home to give his side a deserved lead after sustained pressure.
Just five minutes later, captain Harry Kane doubled England's advantage, calmly finishing in the 67th minute to seal all three points and confirm the team's qualification for the knockout stage.
Elsewhere in Group L, Croatia defeated Ghana 2-1 to also book a place in the Round of 32.
England finished top of Group L with seven points, followed by Croatia on six points. Ghana ended third with four points, while Panama exited the tournament without collecting a point.
England's victory underlined their status as one of the tournament favorites, with Bellingham once again delivering an influential performance in midfield and Kane continuing his goalscoring form as the knockout rounds approach.
