SpaceX and Tesla chairman captured 9% of the shares of the leading social media platform Twitter, and he will join the board of directors soon.

Twitter said on Tuesday that it successfully set an agreement between the members of the platform's Board of Directors, including the company's CEO Parag Agrawal. He described Tesla's chairman as he will "bring great value to our board.”

Last month, Musk is giving “serious thought” to building a new social media platform, the billionaire revealed in a tweet on Saturday.

Someone on Twitter asked him if he would consider creating a social media platform consisting of an open-source algorithm and one that would prioritize free speech, and where propaganda was minimal.

Lately, Musk has been critical of the social media platform and its policies of late, noting that the platform is undermining democracy by failing to adhere to free speech principles.

The tweet comes a day after he put out a Twitter poll asking users if they believed Twitter adheres to the principle of free speech, to which over 70% voted “no”.

Musk's addition to the Twitter board is concerning as many activitsts feard the SpaceX chairman would change some opinion expression rules.
