Tesla Chief Elon Musk is giving "serious thought" to building a new social media platform, the billionaire revealed in a tweet on Saturday.
Someone on Twitter asked Musk if he would consider creating a social media platform consisting of an open-source algorithm and one that would prioritize free speech, and where propaganda was minimal.
Lately, Musk has been critical of the social media platform and its policies of late, noting that the platform is undermining democracy by failing to adhere to free speech principles.

The tweet comes a day after he put out a Twitter poll asking users if they believed Twitter adheres to the principle of free speech, to which over 70% voted "no".
"The consequences of this poll will be important. Please vote carefully," he said on Friday.
The SpaceX founder was recently blessed with a baby girl from his girlfriend Grimes. They welcomed their second child together via surrogate.
The couple went for a surrogate due to Grimes’ fears of serious pregnancy complications after having trouble with her first pregnancy with X.
“I took a few steps and collapsed. It was kind of scary, because you don’t want to fall a lot when you’re eight months pregnant. So I would just crawl to the bathroom and crawl back or whatever.” She noted, adding that she was dying at one point while expecting him: “Like, I hemorrhaged. It was scary.”
