Turkish reports said on Saturday that the Egyptian midfielder Mohamed El Neny could leave Besiktas in the January transfer.

On August 31, Turkish Besiktas completed the signing of El-Neny from Arsenal. “Besiktas reached an agreement with the Gunners to complete El-Nney’s deal on a season-long loan, including an option to make the transfer permanent,” the Turkish club said in a statement on Saturday.

The reports said that the 27-year-old is thinking of leaving the club as the Turkish club achieved bad results in the Turkish League and the UEFA Europa League.

"The newly signed players are wondering if it is better for them to move to other clubs, because of Besiktas' bad results during the previous period," the reports said.

Noteworthy that, El Neny was suspended from playing three games with his club by the Turkish Football Federation because he was sent off during Besiktas' 3-2 defeat from Gazişehir. El Neny was shown the red card for kicking Gazişehir’s Olarenwaju Kayode.

Elneny, who joined Arsenal back in 2016 coming from FC Basel in a deal worth up to £5 million, failed to book his place in the Gunners’ starting eleven, especially since the arrival of new coach Unai Emery.

He participated with the Pharaohs in the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations, but Egypt suffered a shocking defeat from South Africa in the last 16 to exit the tournament.

He also led his national team to qualify for the 2018 FIFA World Cup, held in Russia, where he participated with Egypt in their three clashes in the group stage.
