Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry will visit Qatar to discuss bilateral relations, the resumption of negotiations towards the latest reconciliation between the two countries, and also the Gaza strip file, according to Alarabiya News.

The Egyptian top diplomat is set to convey a letter from President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi to Qatari Emir Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani.

The letter focuses on the positive developments in Egyptian-Qatari relations following the signing of the ‘Al-Ula reconciliation agreement’ on January 5, Spokesman for the Foreign Ministry Ahmed Hafez said in a statement.

Shoukry and his Qatari counterpart Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani will discuss the dispute that Gaza and the West Bank have with Isreal over Sheikh Garah.

Also in this regard, the two diplomates will discuss crucial issues, such as the stabilization of Palestine and the Middle East. They will also discuss the reconstruction of the afflicted strip, the main concern of Egypt, that has been on the top of the negotiations between the Egyptian authorities and several Arab nations for decades.

In a step intended to enhance their dialogue, the two officials have previously agreed on the need to hold a bilateral summit between Egypt, Qatar this year, and discussed topics related to reconciliation and Gaza.

Lately, Egypt and Qatar have agreed to arrange for a visit by Egypt's President El Sisi soon.

"Authorities on both sides will continue to discuss matters related to the visit," Egypt's presidential spokesman Ahmed Hafez said in a statement last week.
