The cabinet information and decision support center (IDSC) announced that Egyptian liquefied natural gas (LNG) exports rose to one million tons during the third quarter of 2021, with an annual growth rate of 900%, the highest in the world.

This came in an infographic published by the IDSC on Wednesday that monitors the development in the Egyptian liquefied natural gas exports.

It pointed out that the volume of Egypt's exports from the Damietta liquefaction plant amounted to 1.6 million tons since its reoperation in February of 2021, which has a capacity of about 5 million tons/year.

The infographic indicated that India came as the highest importer receiving LNG shipments from the Damietta terminal, with about 430,000 tons, followed by Pakistan with 380,000 tons.
