The General Division of Gold and Jewelry at the Federation of Egyptian Chambers of Commerce will hold its first meeting after the board of directors' formation next September 5, in order to develop an integrated plan that meets the aspirations of gold traders, and stimulates markets' sales.

The pision seeks to regulate information about the gold sector, circulating across social media platforms, to counter the smear campaigns against traders and manufacturers, and to enhance citizens’ confidence in gold investment.

Hani Milad, Head of Gold pision said that the board of directors includes a variety of age groups between the profession’s elders, the middle generation, and the youth. It aims to represent the different sectors of factories, wholesalers, and retailers.

He added that the next meeting will deal with the formation of sub-committees for various gold sector files, to discuss problems, put forward proposals and solutions to them, as well as presenting new ideas and visions for development.

He pointed out that the pision is studying to organize several events aimed at unifying traders, as well as boosting citizens’ confidence and attracting them to invest in gold, and addressing smear campaigns against traders across social media sites, via activating legal standards in coordination with security and control authorities.

Milad said that the pision's board of directors' work plan includes reaching a solution to the commercial profits' problem for the retail sector with the Egyptian Tax Authority.

He added that the pision is preparing to launch its official website, in addition to activating its official pages on social media platforms, to counter the systematic campaigns to discredit traders.
