Egypt's Foreign Reserves Increase for 10th Month in Row

The Egyptian Minister of Planning Hala El-Said reviewed, during a cabinet meeting held on Wednesday reports on the performance of the Egyptian economy in the in Q3 of FY2020/21.

El-Said said that the growth rates recorded 2.9% during the third quarter of 2020/21, adding that the country continues to achieve a rise in net foreign reserves for the tenth month in a row, recording $40.3 billion in April.

She pointed out that the inflation rate fell in April to record 4.4% on an annual basis, pointing out that the Suez Canal revenues reached $553.6 million in April, to record the highest monthly revenues in its history.

The minister said that the total production index rose to 103.48% in February compared to 101.04% in January.
