CAIRO, March 4 (SEE)- Egypt’s education forum opened its second round’s doors today under the title of “Education development..Challenges and prospects of success”.
It’s organized by Akhbar El Yom Foundation in cooperation with Cairo University and sponsored by Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly.
Education is a National Security
During the opening session, Dr. Mostafa El-Faki, chairman of Alexandria library and secretary general of the forum's second round, said education is considered a national security issue and main reason why Egypt gained its leading position in the Middle East.
He thanked both Yasser Rizk, board chairman of Akhbar Al-Youm and Mohamed al-Khasht, president of Cairo University, for organizing the conference, paving roads for setting effective solutions for education problems.
He pointed out to government’s role in developing education fields in lines with comprehensive development plans.
“All developed countries and successful leaders like Malaysian Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad, had started first by education,” he added.
Education Development
On his part, Yasser Rizk said that the conference is finally being held after 3 preparatory sessions were convened in the presence of ministers of education and higher education and their deputies.
“Also, president of Cairo University, professors and education experts in many fields were among attendees,” he confirmed.
Furthermore, Rizk stressed the conference’s main goal is increasing awareness of education development program and coming up with new curriculums and real steps on ground instead of just issuing sterile recommendations.
He pointed out to achievements of the conference’s 1st round held 2 years ago and led to an educational boom besides raising public awareness regarding education national program.
Independent Mind
Finally president of Cairo University stated that education is the current main concern for political leadership and is the only way for progress and prosperity.
In this context, he stressed that education reform requires changing ways of thinking and religious fundamentalism.
He said that a project to develop Egyptians’ mindsets has been launched in the university which led to a 100% progress in the last year compared to 2017.
He also confirmed that university will never accept any research project that is not offering real solutions for education problems.
