The entire Egypt national team squad have tested negative for Covid-19 ahead of their round of 16 clash against Ivory Coast, as per the Egyptian Football Association (EFA).
Egypt qualified for the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) round of 16, where they will be up against Ivory Coast, after finishing as Group D runner-ups.
The Elephants finished top Group E with seven points, after going unbeaten [two wins and a draw] and scoring six goals, while conceding just three.
The game is scheduled to take place next Wednesday, 26 January at the Japoma Stadium in Douala; the winner will play against Morocco or Malawi in the quarterfinals.
48 hours before the match, the EFA announced that the team will be in full strength after CAF’s regular Covid-19 tests came back negative.
