Lebanese singer-actress Haifa Wehbe overturned the decision to ban her from taking on acting gigs in Egypt after settling the dispute with the complaining company, Al Remas Film Production.
Moreover, the Actors Syndicate informed the Musicians Syndicate that a settlement had been made and the singer's suspension had been lifted from their side.
At the same time, Al Remas Film Production said in a press release that the issue dates back to 2017 and occurred by the star's business manager at the time, however, the problem was settled after direct communication with Wehbe.
"There was indeed a dispute dating back to 2017 between the Rimas Company and Haifa Wehbe's business manager at the time, and based on that, we recently filed a complaint to the Actors Syndicate, and communication took place between them and producer Isshak Ibrahim, and the matter was clarified between them," the statement added.
"The complaint to the Actors Syndicate, headed by Dr. Ashraf Zaki, was dropped Wednesday evening,".
For his part, Ibrahim confirmed that there are no differences with Haifa Wehbe, as they have had a relationship of affection and respect for years, and it is expected that there will be artistic cooperation in the coming period.
On Tuesday, Wehbe was banned from performing concerts and taking on acting gigs following a decision by Egypt's Musicians Syndicate.
Egypt's Musicians Syndicate had suspended the Lebanese star's work permits and referred her for investigation.
This decision follows a request from Zaki for cooperation between the two syndicates on a contract dispute involving the singer-actress.
Actors Syndicate affirmed Wehbe had signed a contract with a film production company and received an advance payment but did not comply with a ruling by the Syndicate's investigation committee, which led to the suspension of her permits pending further review.
Moreover, Wehbe had also failed to perform at a planned concert in North Coast, despite receiving payment.
Wehbe, born on March 10, 1976, is a Lebanese singer, actress, and TV anchor. She is considered one of the best female singers in Lebanon and the Arab world.
The Lebanese artist won the title of “Miss South Lebanon” at the age of sixteen, which opened the doors for her to work as a model on the catwalk as well as in music videos and TV commercials.
She was considered one of the most famous models in the Arab World. Thereafter, she worked as a TV anchor at the A.R.T. television network, however, she left that path behind to begin her music career.
In 2002, Wehbe released her first album, “Houwa El Zaman” (It Is The Time).
She made her acting debut in the 2008 Pepsi-produced film “Sea of Stars”, which was soon followed by many appearances in the Egyptian cinema and television industry.
Wehbe has released over seven albums and more than a dozen songs.
