Egyptian, Ukrainian FMs Discuss Bilateral Ties, Regional Crises

​A telephone call took place on Saturday, between Badr Abdelatty, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates Affairs, and Andriy Sybiha, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine. 

The call addressed ways to enhance bilateral relations between the two countries, along with a number of international issues of common interest.

​During the call, Abdelatty reviewed the trajectory of relations between Egypt and Ukraine, stressing the keenness to continue developing the existing cooperation in the economic, trade, and investment fields, and to build upon the growing ties connecting the two countries in various sectors. 

Abdelatty also expressed Egypt's aspiration to strengthen the current partnerships to serve the interests of the two friendly peoples.

​Both ministers also exchanged views on developments surrounding several regional and international crises. 

In this regard, Abdelatty reiterated Egypt's firm position calling for the necessity of respecting the United Nations Charter and the importance of continuing efforts aimed at reaching peaceful settlements to crises through dialogue and diplomatic means, in a way that preserves international security and stability.

In this context, the call addressed the Ukrainian crisis and its developments.

​For his part, Ukrainian FM expressed his country's appreciation for Egypt's efforts in hosting the Sharm El Sheikh Peace Summit and the resulting agreement to end the war in Gaza, stressing that this achievement reflects Egypt's pivotal role in achieving de-escalation and making progress towards realizing peace in the region.
