The Egyptian National Railways Authority on Saturday operated the 42nd train journey dedicated to the voluntary return of Sudanese citizens to their homeland, continuing Egypt’s logistical support for displaced families.
The special service carried hundreds of Sudanese families, bringing the total number of beneficiaries transported so far to 40,800 passengers, according to an official statement issued by the authority.
The train is scheduled to arrive at the High Dam Station in Aswan at 11:40 p.m., the statement said. It will then depart from Aswan at 11:30 a.m. on Sunday, returning to regular service in line with the authority’s planned operating schedules.
Egyptian Railways emphasized that the operation is part of an ongoing effort to ensure safe, organized, and dignified transportation for Sudanese nationals choosing to return voluntarily, while maintaining uninterrupted service for the wider passenger public.
The series of return trips reflects continued coordination to manage cross-border humanitarian movement through structured transport solutions, as rail services remain a key pillar in facilitating large-scale passenger mobility.
