Dr. Badr Abdelatty, Egypt’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Immigration, and Expatriates, met on Sunday in Doha with Muhammad Ishaq Dar, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.
The meeting took place on the sidelines of the preparatory ministerial session for the emergency Arab-Islamic summit.
The two ministers reviewed the overall bilateral relations between their countries, expressing their shared commitment to advancing cooperation and elevating ties across political, economic, and trade fields, while exploring new areas of collaboration that serve the mutual interests of both nations.
They also emphasized their keenness to continue cooperation within the framework of the Developing Eight (D-8) Organization, whose presidency Egypt assumed in December 2024.
Moreover, the ministers discussed ways to unlock new opportunities for economic and trade cooperation, attract investments, and foster greater collaboration among member states.
On the regional front, the ministers strongly condemned Israel’s blatant aggression against the State of Qatar, affirming their full solidarity with the Qatari government and people.
In the same context, Abdelatty briefed his Pakistani counterpart on Egypt’s efforts to secure a ceasefire and facilitate the delivery of humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip.
The two sides also exchanged views on addressing the grave political and security challenges in the region in a manner that promotes peace and stability.
