Egyptian Lawmaker Dies during His Daughter’s Wedding in Cairo

An Egyptian lawmaker named Mohamed Badawy Desouqy, of Giza passed out during the wedding of his daughter held in Cairo yesterday.

The late left this world as he was hearing a song said: Oh my daughter, don’t be angry with me if I left you!.

It is worth mentioning that Chancellor Bahaa Al Darjaly, Consultant of Industry and Youths Committees at the House of Representatives (HoR) unveiled details of death of the late lawmaker who died at the age of 66 years.

He passed away during the wedding of his daughter, he said.

He fell to the ground as the singer Medhat Saleh was performing a song he had sung during series of a soap opera named “ The  Bride’s Father”.

Al Darjly added that the defunct lawmaker collapsed when he heard a verse said:  I will be sad if I find tears in my eyes because you are departing and leaving me.

He was hurried to a hospital at Zamalek District, north of Cairo.

Doctors examined the body of the lawmaker, but they found that he had already breathed his last.

An invitee to the wedding party said that the late lawmaker suffered from a surprising heart attack on Friday-Saturday night.

The emergency respondents were called at once but the lawmaker passed on before they came to the spot.

After declaring his death, families of the bride and the bridegroom were forced to abolish the party.

The two families prepare for the funeral on the following day.

They announced that the funeral procession will start from Badawy Mosque in Giza, south to Cairo, and the tent of condolence will be pitched next to that mosque.

It is worth mentioning that the late lawmaker represents one Giza districts at the HoR.

He was elected to the legislative body three years earlier with land sliding majority of votes.

Over the last twenty years, he attempted to be elected as a lawmaker but he failed many times.

He succeeded in 2016 to win a seat in the legislative body.
