Abu Qir Fertilizers and Chemical Industries Company has announced its intention to start partial replacement procedures for natural gas with hydrogen.

The company said in a statement to the Egyptian Exchange on Thursday that it was also decided to install 2.5 MW solar power plants to reduce electricity consumption from the grid or internal electricity generators.

It should be noted that Abu Qir Fertilizers and Chemical Industries announced last Tuesday that its three factories were suspended due to the suspension of its natural gas supply.

It pointed out that the hot weather wave in excess of the normal rates expected for this period of the year caused an unprecedented increase in energy consumption rates in conjunction with the suspension of some regional gas supply sources, which led to the negative impact of the gas network stocks.
