EgyptAir participated as the official airline partner of ITB China 2026, one of the world’s leading travel and tourism exhibitions, held in Shanghai from May 26 to 28, as the carrier moves to deepen its footprint in the Chinese market and boost tourism and travel flows between Egypt and China.

The airline showcased its services through a dedicated promotional pavilion, where its delegation held a series of high-level meetings with major tourism and aviation companies operating in China.

Among the meetings was a session with Leader Group Travel Agency, a company specializing in group tourism to Egypt and North Africa. During the discussions, EgyptAir presented its new complimentary transit service offered in cooperation with the Karnak Tourism sector.

The Egyptian carrier also met with Flyer T, a leading Chinese social media platform focused on the travel and aviation industries. Talks centered on integrating EgyptAir’s loyalty programs into the platform to expand membership in the airline’s frequent flyer program and enhance customer benefits and services.

In a separate meeting, EgyptAir officials held discussions with representatives of HCG, a subsidiary of C-Trip specializing in organizing group travel programs to Egypt, to explore opportunities for strengthening inbound tourism cooperation.

The delegation also met with officials from Shanghai Airport Authority to discuss expanding future cooperation and increasing the number of flights between Cairo and Shanghai. The talks additionally included plans for a visit by Shanghai airport officials to Cairo International Airport to explore operational and marketing collaboration opportunities.

EgyptAir’s delegation included Ashraf Rateb, Head of Tourism Sector at Karnak; Ahmed Wagdy, General Manager of Marketing at EgyptAir Airlines; Mahmoud Essmat, General Manager of Tourism Markets at Karnak; Khaled Fouad, EgyptAir’s Regional Director in China; and Amani Ragab, Financial Manager for the China region.

The airline’s pavilion also featured promotional activities and prize giveaways, including economy-class tickets across the EgyptAir network, a business-class ticket to Cairo, travel bags, and model replicas of the Airbus A350, the airline’s latest aircraft model.
