Egypt and Turkey, the two largest naval powers in the Middle East, are set to conduct joint naval exercises next week for the first time in 13 years, marking a new step in their strategic relations.
The drills, named Sea of Friendship, will take place in the Eastern Mediterranean from September 22 to 26.
The exercises will feature Turkish naval vessels, submarines, and F-16 fighter jets, alongside Egyptian naval and air units.
The upcoming maneuvers are seen as a significant development in the growing partnership between Cairo and Ankara, underscoring their shared interest in regional security and maritime cooperation.
