Egypt to Start NAC Airport Trial Operation, Tuesday

Egypt will start the trial operation of the New Administrative Capital (NAC) airport next Tuesday.

Sources at the Ministry of Civil Aviation said: "NAC airport installation is completed; it is ready for inauguration."

They pointed out that EgyptAir finished equipment process inside the airport; the company opened free markets at the arrival and travel halls ahead of the trial operation.

 A delegation of the Ministry of Civil Aviation`s leaders inspected the travel and arrival facilities, passport areas and the free markets.

The luggage area, airstrip, and the air traffic control were also inspected to find out the readiness for trial operation and the availability of all technical, logistical and security aspects at the airport as required.

NAC airport will contribute greatly to serve the residents of East Cairo, the cities of Shorouk, Badr, Heliopolis, the new administrative capital and the cities of the governorates of the Canal.

It will also support the tourism and travel movement as well as reducing the operational congestion of Cairo International Airport. 

The airport will contribute significantly to the development of Suez and Ain Sokhna including the ports of (Suez - Al Adabiyah- Ain Sukhna), which is a forum for international trade, industry, and investment. 

It is planned for this region to establish complementary industries, logistic and industrial areas which will transform the region into a logistic and industrial center. They will create a positive investment climate, serving the national economy of Egypt.

Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research is working on building the Satellite Collecting and Testing Center located in NAC in cooperation with China.

Noteworthy, NAC is built to create many opportunities for housing and employment, putting in mind that Egypt’s population will almost double in the next 40 years.

The city aims to address various issues facing Egypt and provide a distinct quality of life that adapts to the conditions of population growth and civilization by welcoming all levels of income and culture in a smart city that keeps abreast of technological progress.
