Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly announced that Egypt is set to receive the second tranche of the European Union’s financial support package within the coming days, reflecting the continued strengthening of relations between Egypt and the EU.
Speaking during the government’s weekly meeting, Madbouly highlighted several key activities carried out this week by Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, drawing particular attention to the positive outcomes of President El-Sisi’s recent meeting with Kaja Kallas, the EU’s High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy.
Madbouly noted that President El-Sisi expressed appreciation for the significant progress in Egyptian–European relations, stressing the importance of continuing efforts to deepen cooperation across all sectors. He emphasized that this momentum follows the elevation of relations to the level of a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.
For her part, Kallas conveyed the European Union’s appreciation for its broad-based cooperation with Egypt, pointing to the outcomes of the first Egypt–EU Summit, held in Brussels in October 2025, as a milestone in bilateral relations. She confirmed that the second tranche of the EU’s financial support package for Egypt will be disbursed in the coming days.
The expected disbursement underscores the EU’s confidence in its partnership with Egypt and supports Cairo’s efforts to advance economic stability, development, and regional cooperation.
