The Egyptian Ministry of Agriculture confirmed that about 89 exhibitors and Egyptian agricultural  export companies will participate in the Berlin International Fruit and Vegetable Exhibition (Fruit Logistica), which is considered one of the most important and largest markets for fresh fruits, vegetables, and crops in the world.

Fruit Logistica will be held from 7 to 9 February 2024 at the Messe Berlin, Berlin, Germany.

The report added that the exhibition, which this year includes more than 140 countries with more than 2,770 exhibitors in 26 exhibition halls, continues for three days.

El Sayed Al-Quseir, Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation delivered a comprehensive statement last Sunday before the plenary session of the Senate, in which he reviewed the ministry’s efforts in promoting Egyptian agricultural exports, which are in increasing demand due to their quality.

Agriculture has become one of Egypt's most important sources of foreign exchange

Al-Quseir pointed out that an unprecedented boom in the volume of fresh agricultural exports has been achieved during the year 2023, reaching about 7.4 million tons, an increase of nearly one million tons over the year 2022, with a total value of $3.7 billion, a number that has not been achieved in the history of Egyptian agricultural exports, in addition to $5.1 billion of manufactured agricultural exports, bringing the total value of fresh and manufactured agricultural exports to about $9 billion.

Al-Quseir pointed out that the number of markets that were opened during the past ten years amounted to about 93 markets, including 30 export markets during the last three years. More than 400 commodities are currently being exported to 160 markets, indicating that among the most important of these markets is the Japanese market.
