CAIRO, AUG 19 (SEE)- Abdulraouf Al-Ahmadi, head of the currency exchange department held a meeting with the Chairman of the Nag' Hammadi Aluminum Complex Abdel Zaher Abdel Satar and Sherif Hazem, Advisor to the Minister of Finance, to examine the required alloy for the manufacture of vehicle registration plates.

Hazem confirmed that 600 kilos of aluminum ore were successfully manufactured and tested in one of the specialized European factories.

He pointed out that this step aims at deepening domestic industrialization, providing new job opportunities, and a possibility of exporting vehicle plates to the Arab and African region.

For his part, Al-Ahmad pointed out that a preliminary feasibility study was conducted to determine the manufacturing process' net cost. "The saving cost estimates are 25-30%," he said

He added that the production has doubled to reach a maximum capacity meeting the market demands. The complex delivered 351 thousand metal plates for cars and 70 thousand for motorcycles.

Al-Ahmadi pointed out that the currency exchange department began experiments using local raw materials used in the manufacture of coins from iron ore. "We need to enter a phase of manufacturing and start exporting them to neighboring countries," he said.
