Egypt will officially launch its unified digital platform for health tourism during the Global Conference on Health, Development, and Population, set to take place on November 10, 2025, the Ministry of Health and Population announced.

According to Dr. Hossam Abdel Ghaffar, the ministry’s spokesperson, the decision was among the key outcomes of the second meeting of the National Council for Health Tourism, chaired by Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Deputy Prime Minister for Human Development and Minister of Health and Population.

Abdel Ghaffar explained that the new platform will serve as the official digital gateway for visitors seeking medical or wellness services in Egypt. Through the platform, tourists will be able to apply for entry visas, choose accredited healthcare institutions, arrange medical services, and plan sightseeing activities for accompanying family members—all electronically.

He noted that the system covers every stage of a health tourist’s journey, from treatment and rehabilitation to post-surgery recovery. Egypt’s concept of health tourism, he said, encompasses a wide range of services — from hospitals and specialized medical centers to natural therapeutic destinations such as Siwa Oasis, known for its healing properties.

Abdel Ghaffar emphasized that the government acts not only as a provider but also as a regulator and supervisor of the sector, ensuring service quality while supporting both public and private healthcare providers, as well as civil society organizations.

The new digital platform will feature a comprehensive map of licensed medical and tourism service providers, including dental care, cosmetic surgery, and natural rehabilitation centers — areas where Egypt enjoys strong competitive advantages.

He added that the platform will include an integrated digital follow-up system to track each patient’s journey from their decision to visit Egypt until their return home. A mobile application will allow continuous communication, feedback, and evaluation of services to ensure a seamless experience.

The initiative comes as part of Egypt’s broader strategy to position itself as a regional hub for health and wellness tourism, combining its advanced medical expertise with its rich natural and cultural assets.
