Botswana Football Association (BFA) announced on Friday that Botswana would play against the Egyptian National team on Monday, October 14.
" Botswana's national team will head to Egypt on October 7 to hold a short preparatory camp for the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers," BFA said on its official website.
"Our national team will face the Pharaohs on October, 14 at Cairo International Stadium (19:00 CLT)," it added.
It is worth mentioning that, the seven-time African Champions were picked in Group G alongside Kenya, Togo, and Comoros. 48 teams pided into 12 groups of 4 teams and the top two sides from each group will earn a ticket to the 2021 showpiece tournament in Cameroon. Egypt will kick off their adventure against Kenya on November 11.
On Thursday, September 19, the Egyptian Football Association (EFA) named Hossam El-Badry as the new head coach for the Egyptian national team.
El Badry succeeded Javier Aguirre, who was sacked by the former EFA board of directors following the Pharaohs’ exit from the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations after they suffered a shocking defeat by South Africa 0-1 at Cairo Stadium.
The EFA held a press conference on Thursday to present El Badry, who expressed his happiness over his new post. ” Today, I have achieved my dream by leading the Egyptian national team, and it is a great honor for me to be the Pharaohs coach,” the 59-year-old said.
