During their meeting in Cairo, Abdelatty reaffirmed Egypt's unwavering support for Somalia's sovereignty, unity, and territorial integrity, underscoring the importance of adhering to international principles.
The two ministers emphasized the urgency of launching the African Union Support and Stabilization Mission in Somalia (AUSSOM) and called on international partners to provide consistent funding to support Somalia's efforts in combating terrorism.
Fiqi highlighted Somalia's interest in Egypt's active participation in the mission, citing its extensive military expertise and experience in counterterrorism and state-building.
Moreover, they discussed enhancing economic cooperation, committing to advance trade relations and prepare for the upcoming Egyptian-Somali Business Forum in Cairo.
